Kayitz 2018- Four Week Specialty Intensives!
Scuba Intensive – Campers in the 4 week scuba intensive will gain a deep appreciation for the wonders of life beneath the surface as they learn how to scuba dive and have the opportunity to become certified as open water divers. Scuba instruction will take place in our camp pool before campers venture out into Monterey Bay with our Dive Instructors and Master divers for open water scuba experience. Campers will leave with knowledge of scuba safety, equipment, and diving skills as well as an introduction to marine life and conservation through a Jewish lens.
Surfing Intensive – Want to be a surfer? Under the guidance of our expert surf instructors, campers in the 4 week surfing intensive will develop their surfing skills both at camp’s beach as well as at famous surf spots all around northern California. Campers will learn advance surfing techniques and develop leadership skills that stem from surfing and Jewish textual connections.
Horse Intensive – Spend 4 weeks of your summer in Etgar with a focus on Horseback Riding. Go beyond the basics of riding in a variety of settings. Learn horsemanship skills, develop sound riding techniques, and try your hand at vaulting in addition to a more traditional trail riding experience.
Musical Composition Intensive – Campers in the 4 week musical composition intensive will have an opportunity to find their own voice as Jewish musicians as they work closely with our talented artists-in-residence to craft, perform, and record unique pieces of music. Young music intensive artists will also be able to participate in the camp performing arts performances during the intensive and even have a chance to see their composed pieces brought to life during these showcases. Campers are invited to bring musical instruments of their own to camp for the intensive, or they can specialize in piano, guitar, or vocal performance.
