What to Expect?

General Schedule

When you arrive, hanichim (campers) of all ages, kids and adults, will have a chance to get to know the Ramah Galim tzevet (Staff) then dive straight into our specialty camp programs before gathering for a spirited and festive Shabbat evening. Saturday will be filled with games, prayer, and a feast of food and learning. On Sunday, wake up to an amazing morning filled with the best of what Ramah Galim has to offer. From surfing to horseback riding, from theater to mountain biking, from Israeli dance to swimming in our pool — you can do it all!  Just want to relax? Feel free to find a beautiful spot, kick back, and make new friends.

We are thrilled to welcome many amazing Family Camp artists and scholars in our Family Camp community. If you would like to volunteer to lead an activity or learning session, let us know.

Housing

Family Camp participants will stay in our dormitory with staff and other families. Rooms have two twin beds with the ability to add additional temporary sleeping arrangements allowing for up to 4 people per room with a sink, dressers, and closet. Showers and bathrooms are located in each hallway. Our lounge is stocked with snacks and refreshments daily.

Food

We strive to serve healthy, delicious meals while accounting for the various dietary needs of our participants. Most meals are served family style in our hadar ochel (dining hall). In addition to the main dishes served, we will provide allergy options, as well as a vegetarian option at every meat meal. Snacks will be available throughout the day.

For participant and staff health and safety due to allergies as well as kashrut at camp, we ask that families leave all outside food at home.

Should you have a specific dietary need, please be sure to let us know.

Unplugging

Being at camp affords us the rare and special opportunity to “unplug” from our normal daily lives, including our phones and devices.  We ask that you respectfully limit your technology use to your private rooms over the weekend so we can create and share communal space in which we celebrate together, panim el panim, face to face.

Mirpaah (Health Center)

Camp is fortunate to have a well-equipped health center with basic supplies for the small bumps or sniffles that may occur at family camp. We ask that families provide us with an accurate picture of your medical needs on your registration forms. Please note that our camp medical staff will not dispense prescription medications during family camp. Any prescription needs you have will need to be handled by you. Should you have any questions with this, please contact us.
